Description Obtaining any relevant information from human cremation burials belongs to the most challenging tasks in anthropology. The aim of this study was an assessment of the cremation burials uncovered in site příbor – pod Šibeňákem (the Czech Republic), belonging to the lusatian Culture. Standard anthropological methods, as well newly developed original method of semi-automatic measurement of the maximum linear dimension of bone fragments were applied. In total number of 81 graves, 30,604 bone fragments were measured. In the sample 13 fragments of petrous part of temporal bone were identified and none of the graves contained fragments that would suggested more than one individual in each grave. On the whole, high level of fragmentation, and heterogeneity of fragmentation and number of fragments were recorded in the burials. It was most probably caused by natural factors (soil erosion, plowing).
