| Description | The prognosis of patients with locally advanced, inoperable or disseminated malignant melanoma is grave. Chemotherapy combined with cytokines fails to extend overall survival. At present a number of potent preparations are available that have resulted in dramatic change in survival of patients with advanced melanoma. This includes checkpoint inhibitors and targeted therapy. These drugs have increased response rates as well as survival rates of patients suffering from this fatal disease. |
