| Description | Risk of pressure ulcers formation could be iníluenced by several effective preventivě strategies. One of them is application of appropriate prophylactic dressings. For specially selected group of wound con-sultant nurses (n = 111) the most impor-tant factor for selection of dressing are results of clinical studies and economic situation. Use of appropriate soft silicone foam dressing combined with preventivě care yielded should benefit in reducing the incidence rate and severity pressure ulcers in hospitalized patients as well as in patient in home care. The incidence of pressure ulcers in hospital usually leads to extension of the length of hospitalization (prolonged hospitalization) and unambi-guously affects the consequent follow-up and long-term care of patients at home. |
