Description | This study was implemented for the purpose of verification of the effectiveness of the created complex intervention in treating obesity. The intervention composed of physical activity, diet and cognitive-behavioral therapy. SA HRV was examined in 227 patients (157 females and 70 males), who were treated for overweight or obesity in the Lipova Spa with the average duration of this treatment being 20 days. The average age was 51,9+-11,3 years and the average entry BMI 35,2+-6,8. The results of this study show a decrease in total weight, amount of fat, Body mass index, % of fat and volume of visceral fat. An increase of autonomic nervous activity, particularly in parasympatic part, was recorded in the area of SA HRV. |
