| Description | Objective: The aim of the study was analyse the knowledge and declared practices (used intervention) of nurses in the care of people with non- -healing wound and pain. Method: Questionnaire survey among 209 nurses working at the wound consultant position from the 12 health care inpatient facilities in the Czech Republic. Results: We have proven that the availability of the record of the pain associated with the appearance of the wound varies according to the type of workplace (p = 0.000). Pain records are mostly part of nursing documentation. Nurses use pain record quite often, even of that they recommends inserting a recording to improve the quality of patients evaluation as some items (the patient’s response to the applied material, the main cause of the pain, relief position etc.). Conclusion: The availability and use of pain recording in patients with wound varies according to the type of workplace where the care is provided. Questioned nurse consultants propose tadding specific items to different forms of pain assessment in patients with a wound: the patient’s response to applied materials, appreciation of the underlying cause of pain or taking a relieving position. For the better possibility of a comprehensive evaluation it is necessary to provide proactive pain assessment by nurses in all patients regardless of social interaction disorder. |
