Description | In the proposed paper we analyse and discuss the molecular evolution from the point of view of mathematical analysis and statistics. Some characteristics of distance-based algorithms for phylogenetic inference are depicted. We furthermore use knowledge of mathematical models to design a modified algorithm for phylogenetic tree reconstruction. We implement the presented methods in the form of a simple phylogenetic library, briefly report about results of our case study and finally show a way for building a web interface for biological purposes through Mobyle portal. Finally, we draw a conclusion and discuss possible future work on the project. |
