Description | The goal of this paper is to characterize a relationship between steep joint sets and the lines of fault in the area in the central part of the Bohemian-Cretaceous Basin. This area is mostly built by sandstones and claystones. Compass data of steep bedding joints and brittle joints from the Hořice area were compared with joint sets from the Broumov area. These data sets were visually compared with the fault lines. The peaks of the joints strikes were mostly orientated in the direction W to E or NW to SE. The lines of joint sets were continuous in the direction NW to SE in the Broumov area in contrast to the Turnov area due to the direction NE to SW. |
