Description | The chapter focuses on the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF, 2001) and compares it with the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health for Children and Youth (ICF-CY, 2007). The concept of disability according to the ICF is understood as superior to the concept limiting functional capabilities of a person and always defined in a social context. The goal of classification is to provide a unified and standardized descriptive tool for the evaluation of complex condition of a person. ICF-CY offers a conceptual framework, a common language and terminology for record of manifesting problems in infancy, childhood and adolescence. |
