Description The aim of the following text is to draw on the results of the initial exploration of the battlefield from the First World War, namely the Austro-Hungarian positions on Mount Staviska, which is located in the Bardejov district on the territory of eastern Slovakia. These surveys took place in the spring and autumn of 2013 and aimed at outlining the possibilities of using archaeological approaches to research into modern warfare.
