Description | In this study, the relationship between sea ice and atmospheric boundary layer development is examined for September 2014 – June 2015 in two sites in Svalbard archipelago: Longyearbyen (central Spitsbergen) and Petuniabukta, which is located approx. 60 km to the northeast from Longyearbyen. The main objectives are evaluation of a) air temperature differences, b) air temperature vertical profile up to 500 m altitude with an emphasis on air temperature inversions, c) the relationship between sea ice conditions and the selected temperature characteristics. |
