| Description | Drought belongs to the most signifi cant hydrometeorological extremes in Czechia. The variability of drought in the Czech territory can be studied on the basis of meteorological measurements and documentary sources. Their combination made it possible to create a long-term chronology of dry episodes from the beginning of the 16th century. With regard to the increasing risk of drought in connection with global climate change and its severe impact, especially on agriculture, forestry and water management, its research and quality drought monitoring system is increasingly urgent. |
