Description Dactylogyrid monogeneans of Labeo horie (Heckel, 1847) and Labeo niloticus (Forsskal, 1775) (Cyprinidae) were surveyed at two sites of the Sudanese stretch of the River Nile. We report the presence of ten Dactylogyrus species and three Dogielius species, including Dactylogyrus nathaliae Guégan, Lambert and; Euzet, 1988, D. rastellus Guégan, Lambert and Euzet, 1988, D. retroversus Guégan, Lambert and Euzet, 1988, D. senegalensis Paperna, 1969, D. yassensis Musilová, Řehulková and Gelnar, 2009, Dogielius flosculus Guégan, Lambert and Euzet, 1989, five undescribed Dactylogyrus species and one undescribed Dogielius species. We also provide a description of Dogielius sennarensis n. sp., which resembles D. intorquens but differs from this species (and other congeners) by longer ventral bar and anchor points and absence of sclerotized vagina. Finally, we redescribe Dogielius flosculus based on the morphology of specimens recovered from L. horie. This redescription has determined a single large vagina in all specimens studied, in contrast to vagina composed of two unconnected parts provided in original description. All parasite species observed represent new host and geographic records.
