Description Biological treatment of wastewater as a second step in the proces of wastewater treatment use an activated sludge as a source of varied groups of microorganisms. Regarding the different metabolic pathways of microorganisms in activated sludge we are able to remove most of organic matter and nitrogenous substances from wastewater. Due to the increasing amount of the chemical substances in wastewater, metabolisms of microorganisms can be negatively influenced and therefore wastewater treatment can be insufficient. In our study we investigate the influence of toilet chemistry that is mostly used in mobile toilets on respirometric activity of activated sludge.
