Citation
Description This paper contributes to the scholarly conversation on national third sectors by rethinking the existing predominantly Anglo-Saxon literature in the context of transitional economies. Using a qualitative comparative analysis to determine the effect of social enterprises on the “for-profits-in-disguise” phenomenon, this paper contributes to the development of comparative theory regarding third sector expansion. It draws attention to the ongoing conceptual, organizational, and political redefinition of the Czech nonprofit sector, with possible implications for other (post-) transitive countries in the specific historical, socio-economic, and political conditions of CEE, and hence advances the domain of comparative policy studies.
