| Description | Epithelial ovarian cancer remains the most lethal gynaecologic malignancy in Czech republic. Due to the nonspecific symptoms of the disease, the majority of the cases are diagnosed only in advanced stages. The first line of treatment of ovarian cancer involves a primary cytoreductive surgery, followed by combined adjuvant chemotherapy, based on platinum and paclixatel, which generally achieves a good therapeutic response. However, in about two thirds of the patients, the disease relapses. |
