| Description | The contribution deals with methodological aspects of university history as a topic from the field of culture of science and education. The authors present their thesis about the turbulent development of the Central European university system and about the demanding effort of Central European researchers to keep the continuity of scientific work under political pressure. The contribution also deals with the issues of the cohesion of “universitas” in Central European conditions in the modern history and follows the lines of conflicts both within the universities and the university community, as well as among other stakeholders in tertiary education. The authors apply the approach of modern cultural history, i.e. the interest in sharing university “stories”, places, events and personalities shaping the culture of Central European university in a comparative perspective. |
