Description | The most frequent indication for endoscopic endonasal surgery in newborn children (0-1 month) is bilateral choanal atresia. In bilateral atresia, severe early respiratory problems are common and endotracheal intubation is often necessary. The second most frequent indication for FESS in newborns is congenital disorders of lacrimal passages. |
