Description | The principle of a rotation flap is covering of a triangular defect by a semicircular flap rotated around the pivot point into the defect. The flap nutrition is based on the subdermal plexus on a random pattern of vascular supply. The ideal rotation flap should have the smallest closing tension and should be ideally performed with primary closure of a defect without formation of any secondary defects. These conditions seem to be met by the modified rotation flap that was published by Radjiv Ahuja in the Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery in 1988. |
