Description | This article provides a quantitative as well as partly qualitative analysis of the Czech perception of Russian (especially contemporary) literature over the past 5 years. 407 books were translated from Russian to Czech in 2012–2016, however, only a small part of them was related to literature – 109 (28 of contemporary literature). The choice of contemporary Russian texts to be translated, as well as their acceptance by reviewers, has been influenced by political events, as the attention is often paid especially to the political and social attitudes of authors. |
