Description | The Prodigal Son (1941), a drama in verse motivated with the New Testament parable, is the first staged play of a poet, dramatist and translator Václav Renč (1911–1973). The study based on the original research analyses motives and ideas of the drama in particular; moreover, it also deals with the relation of the drama to other Renč’s sacred plays from the forties of the twentieth century and it pays attention to leitmotifs of Renč’s period drama works too. |
