Description | In this paper we highlight the potential for discussion archives and other qualitative contributions from students in online courses. We present a short study based on open online cosmology course, which includes six modules equivalent to chapters in new teachers textbook. Each module can stand independently of the others, so a student may select parts that he especially likes, and use additional sources for activity, calculus and other content. The course was designed to help both teaching staff and students to perform use no only everyday communication posibilities but discussion forums and document sharing. Students worked to solve team challenging project. Every student was tasked with applying the knowledge of cosmology to create and design plan for better developing detailed solutions to selected problem. The results of the integration and practical usage of this communication project serve as a feedback for further optimisation of course functionality. |
