Description During a rescue excavation of a bypass road around the city of Kolín, 13 features dating back to the beginnings of the late phase of the Stroked Pottery culture were examined. Basic information on the site has already been published (Stolz – Malyková 2017). Four features can be interpreted as clay pits, two as storage pits and in seven cases, the original function could not be determined. In the excavation area, there were no distinctive layouts of longhouses. We presume that they probably fell victim to erosion and ploughing. Polished stone industry, querns, sharpening stones, hammerstones and other macrolithic industry are represented by a very small assemblage (15 pcs in total). Querns, sharpening stones, hammerstones and bases were usually made of local raw materials which is surprisingly also true for most polished artefacts. In that period, Jizerské hory-type metabasites from northern Bohemia unambiguously predominated in the whole of Bohemia. However, for some unknown reason, the local community was not involved in the distribution system of this material. The chipped stone industry assemblage contains 604 pieces from 12 features. Twelve to thirteen kinds of rocks were identified in the whole assemblage. However, only Krumlovský les II type cherts (57%), erratic flints (20.5%), silicites of the Krakow-Czenstochowa Jurassic (7.6%) and siliceous weathered serpentinites (2.8 %) are significantly represented. The predominance of Krumlovský les II type cherts is surprising.
