| Description | The article deals with the study of how the social environment of the Czech regions influences their innovation potential. The aim of the article is to evaluate the importance of level of social environment as a barrier to the development of the region's innovation potential. The parameters of the innovation potential and of the social environment were defined and using the point method the selected indicators were subsequently converted to the composite index. Then, the Pearson correlation coefficient was used to characterize the relationship between the innovation potential and the social environment. It was found that there is only a low dependence between these two variables. Therefore, the social environment of the region is of little importance for the development of its innovation potential. |
