Description | The Registry of Information about Results (RIV) is one of the modules of the R&D&I Information System (IS VaVaI in Czech), a comprehensive database of most kinds of research activities – project calls, running projects and outputs. RIV is traditionally used as the data source for national evaluation procedures. Therefore, despite the indisputable potential of the RIV, the accuracy and validity of the data had been dealing with purpose-built data skewing. Now, the National Evaluation Methodology is changing from the purely output-oriented view towards multi-criterial view at research activities. In parallel with this change, RIV´s ambition is to become a robust data source without unwanted background intentions. First and foremost, the presentation will provide an informatory view of history, data structure, stakeholders and the database editing mechanism. However, the reflection to the international comparativeness of publication types and some ethical considerations will also be mentioned. |
