Description | The aim of the paper is to introduce the operationalization of the assessment of the situation of Czech novice teachers from the perspective of their professional socialization. The paper deals with the results of the research focusing on the course of professional socialization of novice teachers (N = 380 from six regions of the Czech Republic) and compares different possibilities of interviewing and their use for overall evaluation of the dynamics of the process of professional socialization. The possibilities of questionnaire survey in two modalities (structured description of socialization domains and overall emotional evaluation of early professional phase) are compared with the results of semi-structured interviews (N = 20). We focused on the possibilities of using the results for the formulation of the statistical model as well as the added value, which in the mixed design brings interviewing data in the context of the decision of the novice teachers to stay in the profession or to leave it. |
