Description | Althought category theory is highly relevant for mathematical structuralism, its relevance does not consist in providing any new general philosophical approach to the philosophy of mathematics. On the contrary, category theory can be naturally interpreted as an exercise in either implicit, formalist, model, universals or modal structuralism -- all of the five most general versions of mathematical structuralism recognized. |
