| Description | The paper is devoted to Zich’s reception of contemporary trends in the theatre. Otakar Zich belonged to the first generation of European modernism. He was interested in contemporary research of the experimental psychology; the crux of his education lies in music and opera. Zich’s inaugural dissertation was on the aesthetic perception of music (1910). While writing Aesthetics of Drama (1931) Zich got acquainted with the works of the directors of the first and second generations of theatre modernism. |
