Description | The text tries to elucidate the reasons why Julius Zeyer is perceived as a writer in a minority. In view of this objective, the article is divided into four analytical parts: 1) Julius Zeyer as the most Francophile of all Czech writers of the late nineteenth century, 2) the socio-cultural milieu of Julius Zeyer, 3) in what conditions Zeyer wanted to illustrate the famous Czech past 4) by his research of the true faith, related to his sexual orientation, Julius Zeyer occupies a place quite particular in the Czech literature. |
