Description | In the Central Europe, settlements, hillforts and burial grounds from early medieval (6th – 10th) have been studied for more than 150 years. However, historical written sources from this period offer little insight about the appearance of dwellings, fortifications and burials. In the last three decades, a large number of early medieval sites have been prospected using geophysical methods. In general, we can say that the measurement results presented enhance our knowledge of individual localities and instigate further research in the field of Early Medieval Archaeology. |
