Description | The paper will offer a reflection on the issue of education on historical topics related to persecution of people during World War II. According to P. Nora, memory transmission is dying in modern societies. Since we no longer live with our memory, we need to dedicate it to certain places. Such sites may be memorials, which are not only a memory storage location. Memorials are often authentic places where events took place, events designed to be remembered. The monuments are witnesses of these events, they are places with special aura. As such, these places are designed not only for reverence and visits, but also for educating different groups of visitors. The paper will present an example of a museum-educational program on the theme of the Holocaust of Roma and Sinti during World War II. |
