Description | The present text explores the questions of how identity, an always present property in foreign language learners, is expressed, how the concepts of identity and self interact and what kind of interplay between the concept of identity and self (concept) takes place in foreign language learning and teaching, and which role the self-evaluation of (foreign language) learners plays in this context. The aim of the text is to review the level of knowledge about these concepts and, moreover, to specify the theoretical basis for further empirical investigation in this area. |
