Description | Psychotherapy is currently one of the recommended forms of treatment for patients suffering from medically unexplained physical symptoms (MUPS). The aim of this study is to get a better understanding of patients' experience in psychotherapy in a group setting. This study focuses mainly on different kinds of changes that these patients register in their lives during and after the psychotherapeutic treatment. Semi-structured retrospective interviews are being conducted in a naturalistic sample of patients who participated in intensive group treatments at several therapeutic clinics in the Czech Republic. Thematic analysis will be used for the analysis of interview transcripts. The results will be presented and discussed with regard to current findings in this area of research. |
