| Description | The outline of an interdisciplinary project to adapt a humanoid robot for use in a community center for seniors will be presented. Not only input motivation, general social gerontological concepts and methodological challenges will be presented, but also overlaps into the issue of social construction of the role of technology in shared everyday life. Last but not least, we will ask whether older adults can play? How can the duality of "dignity vs. childhood" of old age be grasped, and what impact do these approaches have on the acceptance of new technologies? |
