| Description | The subject of this paper is the research and conservation of the 3rd part of personal diary of professor Robert Konečný. Manuscript consists of 394 separate sheets, the text is written in blue ink on hand-cut sheets of machine-made paper. The aim of the conservation treatment was to improve the condition and prolong the durability of the artifact. For this purpose, microbiological and chemical-technological research (ATR-FTIR, Raman spectroscopy, SEM-EDX) were performed, and the solubility of the used ink was tested. Based on the acquired knowledge, mechanical and wet cleaning, deacidification, filling of missing parts with possible skeletisation and crack fixation were performed. In addition to restoring the manuscript itself, the aim of the work was also to use the most basic materials with minimal financial resources. The work was done by students in practical courses. |
