Description | The issue of unconditional imprisonment, its execution, alternative punishments and short-term prison sentences is still a hot topic on which there are conflicting opinions. Often this topic comes to the fore again with media-known cases that create a wave of resentment in society about the punishment imposed on the offender, which society considers insufficient, too lenient, and expresses concern about the possibility of correction of the offender through alternative punishments. This article therefore focuses on summarizing the given issue and providing a comprehensive opinion module, partial aspects of which, in the form of specific opinion ideas, I reserve with justification. The article describes the unconditional sentence of imprisonment and discusses the issue of its overuse. In light of this, space is subsequently devoted to alternative punishments and the real numbers of their imposition. The end of the article focuses on short-term non-conditional prison sentences and the possibility of imposing them in the future. |
