Description | The Laboratory of Functional Genomics led by Michal Šmída is located at MU part of the Central European Institute of Technology (CEITEC) in Brno. The main area of the research group focuses on improving the therapeutic options and revealing the molecular mechanisms involved in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. That includes investigating the mechanisms of resistance to monoclonal antibody therapy in B-cell malignancies; the targeted gene editing and whole-genome knockout screens using CRISPR/Cas9 technology; and repurposing of approved drugs for personalized therapy. |
