Description | The article is devoted to the work of the Russian storyteller Gennady Tsyferov, whose work and biography are still not fully understood. First of all, this article provides a comparative analysis of the perception of selected Tsyferov's works. With the help of archival materials (letters from editors who refused to publish him—i.e., the times of the USSR), it is reported that there was a lack of understanding of the writer's texts even during his lifetime. Soviet comments are compared with modern (online) reviews on G. Tsyferov's works of. The reason for the past as well as modern misunderstanding is associated with the individual style of the writer, who carried out some modifications of the fairy-tale genre. Consequently, the main genre “violations” are briefly described, which are, on the contrary, associated with the values reflected in the works (and biographies) of the writer. These values can be called “eternal”—for example, friendship, love, goodness, the ability to distinguish between material and spiritual, the desire to find their calling in this world, etc. In conclusion, it is argued that Tsyferov values have not lost their relevance. |
