| Description | A specific part of the literature of the Šumava region is the use of local dialects. A dialect is a means through which concepts such as “space” and “identity” can be expressed. The conference paper focuses on the use of local dialects in the fairy-tales of the Šumava and on how it is employed in various stories and characterizations. It is hoped that these examples will demonstrate whether and how a language (or in this case a dialect) can convey such concepts as “space” and “identity.” |
