Description | The incidence and prevalence of both colorectal cancer (CRC) and metabolic syndrome (MS) is rising. The association of diabetes with an increased risk of gastrointestinal tumors is known. Less evidence is available of the relationship between MS and CRC precancerous lesions (adenomas, advanced adenomas). Screening is of crucial importance in early detection of curable stages of CRC. Aim was to study the occurrence of precancerous lesions/CRC in individuals at metabolic risk. |
