Description | This study confrms that the tested rock (migmatized gneiss) shows mechanical anisotropy and the orientation of the foliation that was distinguished inside the rock infuences fracture processes in the rock. From the point of our research, the strength is generally increased where fracturing occurs oblique to the planes. Thus, the lower average strength values at the angles 30 and 45 degrees are the result of lower friction coefcients of the planes of weakness consisting of biotite fakes along the newly-formed cracks propagate. |
