Description | The Student Scientific Conference on Genetically Modified Organisms is intended both for pre-graduate and post-graduate students who use genetically modified material in the framework of their laboratory work and research activities. This conference brings together students of molecular biology, genomics, proteomics, agrobiology, medical biology and similar fields, and enables them to share their research results, improve communication skills and establish useful contacts for prospective cooperation. The communications are divided into separate sessions and within each session, a competition for best presentation and poster takes place. Preferred language of the conference is English; however, the contributions in Czech or Slovak are also acceptable. Simultaneously to the conference, a satellite meeting called “GMO – myths and legends” is taking place, comprising a series of public lectures presented by experts from the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic. The aim of this meeting is to increase the general knowledge on genetically modified organisms among interested non-specialists. Thus, the conference aims to provide a unique bridge between the highly-specialized scientific programme and lectures for the public presented by experts in the field. |
