Description | This article analysis the original historical text of Astronomia nova and Harmonies of the World. Kepler derives, by geometrical considerations of observational data of Mars and physical magnetic hypothesis, the elliptical law and the areas law. The harmonic law, which Kepler recognized, allows the relative sizes of two orbits to be gauged from comparison of their periods. Kepler´s laws acted as a bridge for crossing from geometry to astronomy and from kinematics to dynamics. In this contribution, we present the content of textbooks at high schools and introductory courses of physics at university level in topic Kepler´s laws. |
