| Description | The chapter deals with the principle of presumption of innocence and the related principle in dubio pro reo. In relation to the media and law enforcement authorities, where, despite the general bases and case law of the courts, which set out what the presumption of innocence includes, they may undermine this principle as they may misrepresent the whole process, or at the stage of criminal proceedings when it should not be known to the public. These sometimes minor violations will violate the right to a fair trial, as judges can also be affected by these reports and public pressure. |
