Description The clinical guideline of Czech Diabetes Society „Insulin Pumps and Glucose Sensors Use in Patients with Dia betes Treated with Insulin" is an adopted guideline based on the guidelines of US Endocrine Society. It follows the trend towards frequent use of modern technologies in diabetology and its aim is to provide evidence-based tool supporting the decision-making processes of healthcare professionals, payers, regulators and patients. Four topics are included in this guideline: insulin pumps use in insulin-treated diabetic patients, clinical use of glucose sensors - real-time CGM and intermittently-scanned CGM (FGM), and the position of bolus calculators in current clinical practice. As most evidence is based on studies in Type 1 diabetes patients, this guideline predominantly refers to technology use in Type 1 diabetes although it is transferrable also to other diabetic patients without endogenous insulin production.
