Description | We often come across the opinion that legislation inthe Czech Republic change too quickly and too often. This excessive activity of the legislator causing the legal order to be rampant is the subject of criticism by the representatives of the academy and legal practice. However, there isanumber of legal norms which are radiant constants that do not follow this trend. This article will focus on just one of them – the operational norm setting the general vacatio legis period between the validity and effectiveness of legal provision. Although it is also a legal provision, the length of the general vacatio legis period is a relatively unchanging folklore among lawyers, constituting apart of knowledge bordering with notoriousness. This article draws attention to an important change in the concept of the general vacatio legis period, which initially went unnoticed by the general public, and offers reflections on possible implications. |
