Description | This chapter identifies the strategies domestic judges use when they engage with the Strasbourg case law, and analyzes when they use each strategy and with what aim, and how this shapes their relationship to the ECtHR. It discusses whether the Strasbourg Court actually makes a difference on the ground. Finally, it argues that the effectiveness of the Strasbourg system of human rights protection lies deeper than in mere compliance rates. |
