| Description | Chest pain is one of most frequent cases of healthcare institution contacting - up to 20-30 % of cases. There are usually several possible causes of chest pain in elderly - but with difficult differentiability from chronical concomitant symptomatology. This review offers actual approaches to differential diagnostics of four life threatening diseases manifested by chest pain - acute coronary syndrome, pulmonary embolism, aortic dissection and spontaneous pneumothorax. Specific features of these diseases in elderly are stressed. |
