Description Agent-based models are one of the used methods for calculating the safe building capacity in case of evacuation. However, they often do not consider psychological aspects, influencing human decision-making and choice of navigation strategies. Another critical point during navigation is the configuration of the space itself. Space syntax theory describes spaces using quantitative characteristics that are demonstrably correlated with human activities and route choices. In this paper, we discuss the results of a SWOT analysis of the use of space syntax methods to refine the agent evacuation model. The results of the pilot study in a virtual environment confirm that the spatial configuration influences human decision-making even during evacuation.
