Description | Intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs) lack a stable 3D structure. Their significance is increasingly recognized after proteomic analysis showing that about one tenth of all eukaryotic proteins are IDPs and more of one third contain considerably long intrinsically disordered protein regions (IDPRs). The missing stable 3D structure prevents using crystallographic and cryoEM methodologies. |
