Description | Throughout the diversely incorporated usage of psychoactive substances in religious or esoteric context, by groups and individuals alike, the one aspect that is mostly approachable by the audience is the visual expression. Many visual artists actively work with the topics of entheogens, either as an artistic subject, or directly creating art under their influence. How is this connection built, how does it influence the artistic outcome and how does it differ to the “normal” creation process? This paper, on a chosen case study of entheogen inspired spiritual art, tries to answer several of these questions. |
